Include your macOS version, the app version, and a short description of what happened. If there is an error message, include its text. Please do not send PDF passwords or sensitive documents.

How do I remove a password?

Drop a PDF into the app or click Choose PDF. Enter its current password when prompted, then save the unlocked file.

Can I recover a forgotten password?

No. You need the current password if the PDF requires one to open.

Will my original file change?

By default, the app asks where to save an unlocked copy. Select Overwrite original if you want to replace the existing PDF. Files without encryption are left unchanged.

What about digitally signed PDFs?

Removing password protection modifies the PDF and invalidates its digital signature.
